Lesson: You have five class periods to complete this assignment.

In this assignment you will make a PowerPoint program.
Save the program as:  PPT2

Your assignment is to make a program that will:

1. Be designed for students that are new to our school. They
will watch the program before starting class.

2. You may choose one of the following:

Whichever choice you choose, you must complete a planning document before making
your first slide. The planning document will be given to you by your teacher.

Choice One: Design a program for one grade level that will
introduce the teachers and the schedule for their grade level. For instance,
you could make the program for first grade students. Your program would
introduce all the first grade teachers, tell students where to go when
they get off the bus, what the general classroom rules are, introduce them to
the cafeteria staff, cafeteria rules and what happens at the end of the day.
You may not do your own grade level.

Choice Two: Make a program for parents that will introduce them to the school.
Your program must cover the Academic Focus (Effective Schools), introduce the
teachers, the principal, the assistant principal, the office staff, the school aides,
and convince any viewers this is a great place to send their kids (list specific reasons).

Choice Three: Make a program that serves as an introduction to the entire school
(this would include all grade levels). This would be for any new student to view
before starting classes. The program must cover buses, cafeteria, nurse, library, office
staff, principal and assistant principal, clubs, sports, fire drills and a brief overview of
        the teaching staff.

Choice Four: Make a program that explains the Academic Focus of the school. There are
several websites you can use as references and to get information from. The program should
explain what we are doing here at Cimarron Springs to implement the Effective Schools Program.
You would explain each of the seven concepts and tell what we do here at Cimarron Springs for
        each one.

Choice Five: Make a program that will introduce anyone to the Dysart Unified School District.
Your program will include all schools in the district, tell the Academic Focus of each school, and
give a brief summary of the growth of the district in recent years.

3. Tools you may use to make this program.

You may use any appropriate tools you can find. However, you may find these links to be very
        useful:

        Effective Schools Research
        Dysart Unified School  Web Site
        The City of Surprise Website
The City of El Mirage Website
Pictures of all the teaching staff - located in one location
Pictures of this campus - located in one location.
With prior approval you may use a digital camera to get a video or still picture of a person, etc.

4. Each program must have:

        Slide transitions for each slide
        Custom Animation on each slide
Music at some point. Could be on just one slide, or in the whole program.
No clapping, screeching tires, typewriter effects, etc.
