filetype
Filetype will search for certain types of files. Like PowerPoint files. Word documents, spreadsheets, pdf's, and so on. This means you can find exactly the type of document you are looking for.
ppt means PowerPoint files
xls means Excel spreadsheets
doc means Word documents
pdf means pdf - pre-formatted documents that will open on any computer.
Make a new Word document. Name it: Last_First_filetype8B (last letter/number will change for you). Save the file.
Go to Google.com
In each case (A, B, C)
print the screen and put the image into your Word
document so you can refer to them when answering the questions below.
A. In the search bar, type this: intitle:"ancient china"
filetype:ppt Press enter. Look at your results. Is it
true that Google only found PowerPoints in the results? Print the screen. Paste
it into your Word document.
B. Go back to Google.com. In the search bar, type this:
intitle:"ancient china" filetype:doc Press enter.
Look at the results. Is it true that Google only found Word documents in the
results? Print the screen. Paste it into your Word document.
C. Back to Google.com In the search bar, type this:
intitle:statistics filetype:xls Press enter. Look at the results. Is
it true that Google only found Excell spreadsheets in the results?
Print the screen. Paste it into your Word document
